Fellow musician, kindhearted figure

I first met Ben during my freshman year at Watchung Hills. He was always supportive of my musical interests at a time when I was struggling to adapt to a new environment.

He always spoke so fondly of his instrumental talent and loved to engage in conversation with any fellow musician. I played violin in two musical productions at WHRHS and was seated very near Ben.

While I did not join the percussion section of the marching band until Ben was a senior, he remained an approachable, kindhearted figure with whom I often found time to speak during band room lunches.

I was glad to be able to see him again once I began my first semester at TCNJ. While I was not a close friend, I knew Ben and recognized how much he warmed the hearts of everyone he encountered. ... I wanted to come to pay my deepest respects to a wonderful fellow student who always treated me with the utmost kindness.

Ben’s devotion to his musical art was part of what made him so wonderful. He will always be remembered, treasured, and cherished for his welcoming, friendly spirit – one that guided him so well in life.

I am truly sorry for your loss and with to give the family my deepest condolences and consolation.
