Livestreaming

Anybody who has spent any time with Ben in the past several years knows that Ben has a passion for projects - be it refinishing furniture, assembling a bike or disassembling a bike or even baking a pie.

One of his favorite things to do while working on these projects was to share it with the world, typically through a livestream event.

I can’t tell you how many times I walked into the basement or into the kitchen while Ben was in the middle of a livestream and said to Ben, “who are you talking to or what are you doing?” All of a sudden, I became a main character in his livestream.

One specific event that I can remember occurred when Ben was working at a restaurant in Warren. On a particularly slow afternoon, Ben’s coworkers discovered that he was livestreaming one of his furniture refinishing projects, so they proceeded to put his livestream on the televisions in the bar and throughout the restaurant.

All of the patrons in the restaurant that day got a livestream tutorial on how to refinish furniture, from Ben Watkins.
